Polyphemus

Stories can be understood differently from others point of view. In the Odyssey, this epic is told through Odysseus's point but, how would it be understood through Polyphemus's view.

The Odyssey- Polyphemus
I was sitting on my hill taking care of my sheep when i heard voices coming from the shore. I'm not one for social contact so I ignored them. Soon enough  the voices had gotten louder and were heading my way when I  decided to go to my cave. This cave was my dearest possession, next to my sheep. As i entered, the voices became quiet, I must be hearing things. I closed my huge stone slab of a door and lite a fire. I began to prepare dinner when a man spoke. " WHO ARE YOU," I asked. In reply nobody answered, the light from the fire cast a shadow where I saw there were not one but seven men. These men were tiny compared to me so i decided to have a snack only one or two men would do, no more no less. They tasted sweet not like anything i had ever tasted.
For the next few days I tended to my sheep and went around on my normal chores, eating two men each night, no more no less. One of the men spoke to me last night, he said he wanted to go so i took two more men. I then asked him his name when he said his name was Nohbody. Nohbody then offered me wine from his home place. The wine was sweet and delicious so I had some more, until i began to slowly drift off to sleep.
I woke up to the sound of someone screaming, but then I realized it was me. A warm sticky liquid was streaming down my face and I felt a sharp pain. My eyesight was gone and it was then that i knew what had happened. Nohbody and his men had intoxicated me, and while i was sleeping stabbed my eye.
I was extremely sad as I let my sheep out to the field. I noticed that the biggest one, my favorite was lagging behind. Perhaps he was sad for his masters eye. Soon enough after i heard cheering and screaming coming from the shore. Nohbody then spoke telling me his name wasn't Nohbody it was Odysseus son of..... I was angered and threw a rock in their direction, but missed. Then....all that I could here was the slapping of the water against the rocks.

Anticipation Statement ( English Blog 1)

"Any goal can be accomplished and any  obstacle can be overcome with enough courage and determination"

Any goal CAN be accomplished. Many people may think that not every goal can be accomplished, but i disagree. If someone really is determined enough they can do whatever. The other side says that if i want to jump over the empire building can I? No, but what they don't realize it has to be realistic goals. But, Hannah if that isn't realistic what about winning a gold medal for the highest jump at only 5 feet, that isn't realistic. Yes, it is humanly possible to win a gold medal while as jumping the Empire State building is not. Thus my point.
For example  if i wanted to be an elite gymnast or a paramedic i could. First of all i would have to train hard enough, thus the determination. Where would people be if we couldn't accomplish anything?
People in history use this as their motivation.  Number one,Thomas Edison. Edison failed many times at creating the light bulb, but he  was determined enough  to eventually accomplish his goal. Number two, Helen Keller. Nobody believed that she would be able to do anything but she learned to speak.
           Quotes that Support Me
  1.  He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.
  2.  But with the right kind of coaching and determination you can accomplish anything and the biggest accomplishment that I feel I got from the film was overcoming that fear.
    Reese Witherspoon

  3.  We would accomplish many more things if we did not think of them as impossible.

So this concludes my point that anything can be accomplished with enough courage and determination.
